Consultation has concluded

The City of Yarra is known for its dynamic night life spread across several precincts, principally Collingwood and Fitzroy (Smith, Gertrude, Brunswick and Johnston Streets) and Richmond (Victoria, Church and Swan Streets).

However, the nature and intensity of this activity can negatively impact upon the local community through noise, litter and matters of public nuisance.

In September 2012, Council undertook an extensive public consultation for a period of 3 months to discuss how to make Yarra’s night activity centres safer and more vibrant.

The outcome of the consultation was the development of Council's first Night Time Economy Strategy, endorsed by Council in April 2014. Public comment on this strategy is open until

The draft strategy was available for public comment in April - May 2014. This was adopted by Council in June 2014.
